Dates for Holiday Shows

I thought better put some dates on here for my "holiday" venues so that all you local friends can try to see my pieces on display---and maybe considering buying something? Art quilts make great gifts!

November 20 (Friday) - Outdoorsmen Church (12208 Pulp Mill Rd, West of Missoula) - Lady's Harvest Festival- 6:30pm

November 22 (Sunday) - Art City Gallery, Main Street, Hamilton - Holiday Open House 2pm-5 or 6pm - Several of my pieces will remain on display at the gallery.

December 4 (Friday) - First Friday: Stevensville Art & Sculpture Society Holiday Art Show - Stevensville Hotel

December 4 (Friday) - The Beaded Pony, Main Street, Stevensville - Solo Exhibition - Evening Reception - Exhibit will be on display through December.

HEIDI ZIELINSKI - Fiber Artist

Creating art through fiber and stitch is my passion. In no other pursuit (besides raising a child) have I ever found the rewards and joy that I find in using textiles, thread, paint, beads, yarn and other materials to make a work of art worthy to share. I enjoy creating my own fabric with dyeing, painting, stamping and other surface design techniques, but also continue to use commercial fabrics in much of my work.

My work is based in the quilting tradition of three layers stitched together but I have embraced the Japanese sentiment of Wabi Sabi---imperfection in all things. I am more organic than precise! You will see reflections of nature in my work as I live in a valley in the Rocky Mountains of Western Montana surrounded by mountains, rivers, streams and my own yard and garden.

Much of what I write on this blog is what is going through my head on a particular day. It is akin to journaling but in a rather public way. Unfortunately I tend to be long-winded and sometimes rambling...for that I apologize! I hope the images I provide help to make it interesting and hopefully encourage you to return to my blog another day! Please feel free to comment, make suggestions, submit requests or voice your complaints! I hope to inspire, excite, and maybe even convert viewers/readers to know and realize fiber art as fine art. I believe what I do with cloth, thread and bead is art. I hope you do too. Thank you for reading and do come back another day!!
